M. Douglas Sigman, Jr., D.M.D.

Douglas Sigman Health Council of Southeast FloridaDr.  Sigman is a graduate of Vanderbilt University.  He completed his post Graduate degree at the University Of Louisville School Of Dentistry where he graduated with honors.

Dr.  Sigman has served on the staff of numerous local hospitals throughout his career.  He was affiliated with Palm Beach Regional Hospital from 1974-1988, St. Mary’s Hospital from 1972-1991 and Good Samaritan Hospital from 1973-2000.  He is still an active committee member of the Continuing Medical Education Committee at Good Samaritan.

Dr Sigman has provided emergency room coverage since 1970 at the above mentioned hospitals, primarily for the treatment of dentofacial trauma and management of infection.

Dr.  Sigman is also a clinical instructor in Oral Surgery.  He lectures to dental staff and gives annual lectures to medical residents in Public Health regarding the scope of oral surgery in Public health.

Dr.  Sigman has been involved with numerous projects throughout the community including the Black Men’s Health Clinic, the initial program to register children with dental examinations for identification, The American Cancer Society and The Major League Baseball Smokeless Tobacco Campaign.

Dr.  Sigman is retired from private practice but still serves as a consultant in oral surgery and specialty treatment for complex cases, and sits on the Credentials committee for the Health Care District as well as the Board for the Treasure Coast Health Council.
