Gary D. Strother was born in Manchester, New Hampshire and raised in Poughkeepsie, NY. He moved to Florida in 2013 to be closer to family and enjoy the beautiful Florida weather and has three adult children, two sons and a daughter. He also has four grandchildren.

Most of Mr. Strother's career has involved working with children. He started working at the Children’s Home of Poughkeepsie as a child care worker and moved up to the position of Director of Residential Life after several promotions. He left the human services field for a few years and worked in commercial and residential real estate sales and then became involved in the semi-conductor industry.  In 2010, Mr. Strother went back into the human services field and worked as Director of Crisis Intervention and Campus Safety at the Hawthorne Cedar Knolls Campus for the Jewish Board of Family and Children’s Services. Currently, he is the Director of Business Development for the Palm Beach Habilitation Center in Lake Worth, Florida.

Mr. Strother earned a B.S. degree in Integrative Studies and a Masters of Public Administration from Marist College in Poughkeepsie, NY .
