Anita Cocoves, PhD, EdD
Dr. Cocoves received her Ph.D. summa cum laude from LaSalle University and her Ed.D. from Nova University. She received her M.S. from Nova University, B.S. from Barry University and an Associate of Science from Indian River Community College.
Dr. Cocoves is a licensed Mental Health Counselor, Certified Addictions Professional, and a Certified Mental Health Professional specializing in consultation, crisis and family intervention.
Dr. Cocoves is an associate of the Martin County Drug and Alcohol Abuse Awareness Committee. She has authored grants that have been awarded in excess of 11 million.
While serving on committees for Martin County Juvenile Justice, Dr. Cocoves was Chairman, Vice Chair and is the currently appointed BCC representative. She has also served on the Treasure Coast Homeless Services Council, Florida Homeless Coalition, Florida Alcohol and Drug abuse Association, American Mental Health Counselors Association and many more.
Dr. Cocoves is a Who’s Who in "Medicine and Healthcare", (first edition), "Science and Engineering", (5th edition) and "Women", (14th and 15th editions).
Dr. Cocoves is an active member of the community. She is a member of the Disaster Services Human Resources (DSHR) system of the American Red Cross, Martin County Board of County Commissioners, Martin County Health Facilities Board, Palm Glades Girl Scout Council, United Way of Martin county and St. John's Greek Orthodox Church. She is also a Eucharistic Minister for St. Joseph's Church in Stuart.
Dr. Cocoves is currently employed as the Court and Clinical Services Administrator on the Martin County Board of County Commissioners.
